ChristobaliteCristobalite is a form of silica, composed of the same elements as Quartz but with a different crystal structure. Found in volcanic sources, it is associated with the natural glass obsidian, where it forms in the gas pockets. Snowflake obsidian is in fact obsidian with small white inclusions of Cristobalite, where the white microscopic crystals form a pattern, creating the snowflake appearance.
