The use of shells in personal protection
Early humans strung mollusk shells together to make jewelry at least 75,000 years ago. Archaeologists say the
discovery of the Stone Age shell beads hint that people had advanced concepts of symbolism and language earlier
than anyone realised.
The shell or clam shell has symbolic value in many cultures, from India (Vishnu carries a shell) to the moon god
in Aztec culture.
Shells can be used effectively in combination with gemstones for personal protection.
Items needed:
- 2 shells
- 1 agate
- 1 chrysoprase
- 1 small crystal point
- 1 bag
- A metal bowl
- Spring water
- 1 black candle
- 3 bay leaves (these can be found in the spice section of your grocery store)
