What do your dreams mean?

Throughout the ages, dreams have been a source of interest and fascination for every culture. And why not? We all dream on a regular basis. We spend a third of our lives sleeping and dream an average of 2 hours per night.

There have been (and are) countless theories on how to interpret the dreams we experience every day. The ancients believed that dreams were messages from the gods, and served as oracles to predict the future. Dreams were used to heal the sick, solve problems and induce spiritual awakenings.

Some gemstones promote vivid dreams and restful sleep...

Today, dreams are studied in science laboratories and measured with EEGs (electroencephalograph) and REMs (rapid eye movement). To the scientist, dreams occur because of certain kinds of sleep, which allow our brains to process important information.

For the mystic, dreams are a spiritual tool that can be used to explore new worlds and other dimensions. They enable the soul to travel outside the body and experience the very essence of life.

To a psychologist, dreams are an opportunity to understand the subconscious mind and thereby bring about a more balanced, healthy approach to solving life's problems.

Theories and studies are ongoing in the search for:

  • What our dreams mean
  • Why we dream
  • What purpose dreams serve to our health, well-being and spirituality
  • The true nature of dreams.

Despite a wide variety of theories, one thing is commonly agreed upon by mystics, scientists and psychologists alike -

Dreams do have meaning and we can learn from them.
